Most of the EU politicians and elites wish for Ukraine to join the European Union one day, rather sooner than later. Ukraine wants to be a proud member of the Western family of nations, which believes in freedom, liberty, democracy, rule of law.

What are the primary challenges Ukraine will face in meeting the EU accession criteria, aside from the ongoing conflict? How relevant is the experience of other Central and Eastern European countries, and what best practices could be applied? What additional measures can the European Commission take to support Ukraine on its path to EU membership?
