I interned at the Institute for Politics and Society for four months as of February 2019. As a graduate student in International Studies, this internship was in accordance with my studies and it was a great experience.

I would like to underline the variety of tasks that one gets to do there, that are often connected to your personal interests and knowledge. As in every internship, you have administrative tasks, however, I also had the great opportunity to make reports and papers, to participate in international conferences and to participate in the preparation of events. One of most interesting things about this internship is that it helped me transfer my theoretical knowledge into practical ones, particularly in the redaction of reports and papers.  At the same time, I also had the opportunity to work on new subjects and participate in conferences about fields that I did not know much about. This allowed me to develop my knowledge and my skills in additional subjects.

I had the chance to participate to the International Conference Digital Czech Republic which took place in the prestigious Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic with the participation of representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Government of the Czech Republic. The internship at the Institute for Politics and Society also allowed me to learn more about the way think-tanks work on an everyday basis, for example, the different steps that have to be taken to prepare debates and conferences.

Another positive aspect is the friendly environment. The team of the institute is very friendly, and they will always try to help you and give you tasks according to your specializations and interests. So, every intern has the opportunity to enjoy work in a highly professional and very friendly environment.

As a summary, this internship gave me a great professional experience that will be useful in my future career. It allowed me to put into practice my knowledge, to learn more on many subjects, and to participate in interesting conferences. So, I highly recommend any student interested in the fields of International Relations and politics to do an internship at the Institute for politics and society. It will be a great choice!
