These past three months have been a truly wonderful and insightful experience. From the moment I started, everyone in the office was incredibly friendly and approachable, which made me feel comfortable and supported right away. I’ve always had an interest in foreign affairs and public policy, and this internship gave me a fantastic glimpse into the inner workings of a think tank and what it’s like to engage in political discussions in a professional setting. The work was very varied, which I really appreciated. I had the chance to proofread, write blogs, review and suggest ideas for policy papers, draft emails and speeches, and monitor current events. One of the biggest highlights for me was attending the roundtable discussion at the British Embassy. It was such a privilege to meet ambassadors and listen in on such an important conversation about the future of Europe, covering topics from the war in Ukraine to NATO’s future role. I felt truly honoured to be included, and I am incredibly grateful to you for making that possible. Now that I’ve finished the internship, I’m thinking even more seriously about pursuing a career in politics or foreign affairs. This experience has been such an important stepping stone for me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the insight and inspiration it’s given me. I would recommend this internship to anyone who is interested in politics and is thinking about pursuing a career in foreign affairs or any government department.
