Currently, graduating from college with a degree does not guarantee a job, but it does play an important role in the acquisition of appropriate experience and expertise. This motivated me to apply for the internship. The Institute for Politics and Society as a think-tank that deals with political and economic issues as well as foreign policy issues; provided me with a unique opportunity to gain experience and overview within these areas, which are part of my studies at university.
My work at the Institute was varied but in every way beneficial. For me, the most beneficial tasks were various translations of texts into English, which helped me with written English, speech, and enriched my vocabulary. On the other hand, the most interesting and most creative work was with the website, Canvas, where I created a variety of graphic materials and posters.
The Institute for Politics and Society enabled me to meet different personalities and participate in various events, which would have been impossible in everyday life. During my four-month internship, I had the opportunity to participate in many debates as well as a business breakfast with Ms. Šlechtová, Minister of regional development, and the Ambassador, H.E. Weiss. The most important event during my internship was the Digital Czech Republic conference, in which I also participated.
I would like to thank my friendly and helpful supervisor for providing me this opportunity to be part of their team and giving insight into the daily business of a think tank. I recommend this internship to all students who want to be active and are interested in the work itself.
